Modern Slavery Statement
Haringey Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Haringey Movers in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not take place within our organisation or within those we do business with.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Haringey Movers has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation. This applies to every aspect of our business, including our own employees, temporary staff, contractors, agency workers, and all suppliers and subcontractors involved in our moving and relocation services.
We expect everyone who works for or with Haringey Movers to share this commitment. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, contract termination, and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Haringey Movers provides local and regional moving, packing, and storage services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, equipment, and labour services. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can exist at any stage of the supply chain, particularly where lower-paid, temporary, and manual roles are involved.
We seek to work only with suppliers and partners who demonstrate respect for human rights, fair working conditions, and compliance with relevant labour and employment laws.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We apply a risk-based approach to assessing and managing modern slavery risks in our supply chain. Before entering into or renewing contracts, we consider the nature of the goods and services supplied, the geographic location, and the labour practices typical of that sector.
Our supplier due diligence measures include:
• Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with modern slavery and human trafficking legislation and our zero-tolerance policy.
• Requesting information on suppliers’ own policies, training, and due diligence processes relating to labour practices and worker welfare.
• Including contractual terms that allow us to review supplier practices and require corrective action where standards are not met.
Where we identify increased risk, we may conduct or request audits of suppliers. These audits may involve reviewing employment records, worker conditions, wage practices, and recruitment processes. If a supplier fails to adequately address identified concerns, we will consider suspending or ending the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Haringey Movers encourages all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical labour practices as soon as possible. We are committed to providing safe and confidential channels through which such concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation.
Concerns can be reported internally through management or designated safeguarding and compliance contacts. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively. We will take appropriate action in response to any substantiated concerns, which may include remediation steps, disciplinary measures, or escalation to relevant authorities.
We also expect suppliers to maintain their own internal mechanisms that enable workers to raise concerns confidentially and without detriment.
Training and Awareness
We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks within Haringey Movers. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, recruitment, and site operations, are informed about key indicators of exploitation and the steps to take if they identify or suspect potential abuse.
We review our training needs regularly to ensure that our people remain aware of evolving risks, best practice guidance, and any changes in applicable legislation.
Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement
Haringey Movers is committed to ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of our approach to preventing modern slavery. We review our policies, procedures, and risk assessment processes at least once every year to assess their effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Our annual review may consider:
• Feedback from employees, suppliers, and stakeholders about our modern slavery measures.
• Outcomes of supplier audits and due diligence checks.
• Any reported incidents, investigations, or corrective actions taken.
• Changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Following each review, we will update our procedures and communicate any significant changes to employees and, where appropriate, to key suppliers and partners.
Approval of This Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Haringey Movers, who take overall responsibility for ensuring its implementation and ongoing review. It reflects our current position and will be updated on an annual basis to demonstrate our continued commitment to combating modern slavery and protecting the rights and dignity of all workers within our business and supply chains.
